SPIRITUAL HEALTH
SPIRITUAL HEALTH
Spiritual Health? Some may say, what does anything spiritual have to do with health. Well, even when I was in the “new age” movement, we believed(and some still do) that everything on the physical plane was preceded by something from the spiritual plane. For example, you get a thought in your mind, it didn’t just come out of nowhere, it originated from the spiritual realm. Sound weird?
SPIRITUAL HIPPIES
We were “spiritual hippies” or some of the neighbors called us the “technicolor Amish”. We believed in going back to the way “God” originally wanted mankind to be. For example, we never cut our hair, we just let it grow to the length God intended. The name of the place was The Farm
and Stephen Gaskin was the spiritual teacher(he never liked the title “leader”). I still believe in a lot of what was taught there, however life tends to create circumstances that change what is possible for us to do.
SPIRITUAL ‘NON-KILLING’
One issue that I assume they still hold to and I’m sure God still blesses them for is their stand on abortion. Their policy was if any woman was considering an abortion that they first come to the farm, have the baby free of charge(they had an extensive midwife program), they then could stay on the farm with the baby, leave the baby there and never see it again or come back for the baby at any time. That is the most compassionate solution I have ever heard for all the parties concerned(especially the baby). By the way my first child, Ruben was born on the Farm, it was an awesome experience I wouldn’t trade for anything.
SPIRITUAL JOURNEY
Now as many of you can imagine, I could go on and on about my experiences there, but let me skip forward to the future. Through a series of circumstances( the break-up of my first marriage, etc.), I became a born again, spirit filled christian. (I had been raised in a denominational church, but the “gospel-good news”- bible teaching was more social than truly spiritual.) I had decided that I tried to lead a life without much guidance from GOD and now my life had fallen apart.

I had even considered suicide. To this day my ex-wife apparently believes that I’m one of the worst people on the planet, and my children don’t communicate with me. Jesus said: He who has given up wives and children and brothers and sisters and parents for the kingdom of Gods sake shall receive 100 times as much. And I have found that to be true, I have many spiritual parents, children, brothers and sisters and they are all ready to forgive and forget.
SPIRITUAL HEALTH-2
Now let me try to address the issue of the direct relationship between spirituality and health. I have always believed (well since THE FARM days) (1973) that the closer a food is to the way GOD (or nature, for those with a problem with the God thing) originally made it, the healthier it is for you. For example, a potato you grow yourself and just bake and eat as opposed to potatoes-Au-gratin in a box or even a carrot you either cook or just eat raw.(that’s a whole series of articles).
Then there’s the ‘technique’ of positive affirmation based on scripture from the bible(God’s Word). Here’s just one that I say almost every day, just to maintain health:
JESUS IS THE LORD OF MY LIFE, SICKNESS AND DISEASE HAVE NO POWER OVER ME. I AM FORGIVEN AND FREE FROM SIN AND GUILT. I AM DEAD TO SIN AND ALIVE UNTO RIGHTEOUSNESS….based on 2 Corinthians 5:21(THE BIBLE)
PERSONAL EXPERIENCE
Back in August 1, 2000, I had a stroke. I never went to see a medical doctor, I don’t trust most of them anyway, being a Dr. of Chiropractic(DC) myself, but did see my DC, and he confirmed my diagnosis. It took a few months to recover the use of my right hand, but my faith was strong that GOD would heal me in 2 ways: by saying positive confessions such as you see above(I have more of those and would love to share them with anyone who would like them) and getting more strict on the Hallelujah Diet…see...www.hacres.com.…I was completely healed in 3 to 4 months.
Well, again, I could go on and on but let’s save

something for next time. I welcome any and all comments to the above, so “let’s do lunch”(vegetarian).

Best? Beer and Bratwurst?
Those of you that know me are saying, “What happened to Dr. Steve? A tee-totaling vegetarian.” Not to worry. I don’t drink beer or eat bratwurst. This is just something to start a conversation. As some of you may have noticed in my profile, I have been studying nutrition for 40+ years and it’s only been in the last 10 years that I’ve had a radical change. For starters, did you know that meat(bratwurst) can cause arthritis and cancer. Even the medical doctors acknowledge that meat causes “gouty arthritis”, they just don’t understand the connection to the general (degenerative) arthritis that we all are subject to(unless we have the revelation about meats destructive qualities).
As far as meat causing cancer. After all what is cancer but a group of cells on steroids(too much growth). And what do they add to the meat but growth hormones. Supposedly the hormones are no longer active in the meat people eat. Can we really trust that to be an accurate assessment?
That’s all for now, we’ll talk more about this next time.
I welcome your comments, dr steve
